Lake Washington is located on Highway 12 West of Minneapolis near Hutchinson and Litchfield.
We are still considering a couple of sights closer in. Cold temperatures are bringing new options every day.

Right now, I'm looking for Ice Reports and snow observers in the Forest Lake and Chisago City areas... local fishermen report 2-5" of current ice, but the reporter had no knowledge of ice depth over a couple of the deeper spots (~30')
Also The top 1/4 or 1/3 Lake Pepin is reported to be skinned over, this is borne out by the Modis Imagery... although there may not be enough cold to lock down a sailing area... maybe... we'd need a report from Frontenac MN.

Abundant sailing opportunities today in Minnesota, DNs will be sailing on Swede Lake near Watertown, MN, Cedar Lake beteen Sauk Center and Long Prairie, presumably Ottertail, near Perham and Lake Jenny near Hutchinson, undoubtably other locations as well.
As usual, we're watching a developing low pressure system that promises to be a rain/snow event across the southern region of our ice, and maybe 4-6" on Tuesday... of course there's some uncertainty as to what form it will fall around the primary candidates.
At dusk today spring park bay, lake minnetonka was substantially frozen. I think it kicked overnight.

At of 1000 local time, Buffalo Lake, Buffalo MN was substantially frozen...
There are 4 signicant holes mid-lake and she's not suitable today.
It is a serious candidate for a primary location for the GREAT WESTERN CHALLENGE REGATTA
Lake Christina was fully frozen at sunrise Sat Nov 20, currently they're under a storm advisory with 4-6" possible.
With our current brisk temperatures, other lakes are in the process of freezing now...
as I understand there are half a dozen or so europeans are planning on coming, so we'd better find some ice over the weekend.
Plans are forming for ice searching/checking expeditions beginning Friday.
