Glory Days

Re-released.. The site I put it on in 2009 isn't active anymore.. and Youtube allows longer then 10:00 minutes now.

It makes for a good training video.. Put it on and hold your neck up for all three laps.

We don't view this as our swap meet but the ice boating communities swap meet.
That being said... anybody is more than welcome to pitch in with support or ideas.

It's an Early one this Year.

Hello Ice Boaters,

We have decided to go with the early date of Nov 30th-Dec 2nd 2012 for our season opener regatta.

What's everybody doing to get ready this year?

I still have to get my steering system working correctly, after my boat was involved in an accident in the pits at the NA's.

Minnetonka

Terry F and I had a great sunset rip on Tonka last night. Ice is smooth and hard. Planning on a late afternoon session today.

Prior Lake

good for last season sail ,didn't find any hazards except for the Polar Plunge hole close to shore at Sand Pointe

Last days round here

Sailed the Lower Croix last Saturday for 30 miles with a top speed of 40. Ice was OK, but today was really nice. All the slush was gone! The drain holes are small and a non issue.
Had to wear my Wellies to get to my boat and 8 good inches of ice. Top speed today of 45 and 48 miles traveled. Not many days left though. What a season!
Might get another day or so to sail before the temps rot the ice beyond safe sailing.

Pepin Ice.

Pulled the last skeeter and stern-steerer off the ice at Pepin yesterday. Ice at Pepin is still sailable but pretty rough. Landing is still OK for trailers.
Lake is opening fast above Lake City/ Stockholm.
